"I just spoke with Governor Greg Gianforte, of the Great State of Montana, and informed him that I will be approving an Emergency Declaration for Montana for severe storms they experienced this month. I LOVE MONTANA!"

Those were the words of President Trump as he announced that he had approved Montana's request for an emergency declaration. This, after severe winds and flooding has hit parts of Montana- especially Northwest Montana and towns like Libby.

Gov. Gianforte also posted on X: President Donald J. Trump just approved Montana’s request for a presidential major emergency declaration to respond to the flooding disaster in Lincoln and Sanders counties and the Blackfeet Nation.  Thank you @POTUS for your immediate response to support our recovery.

According to NBC Montana, "The request, submitted on Dec. 16, seeks federal funding to support emergency response costs related to flooding in Lincoln and Sanders counties and the Blackfeet Nation." The declaration reportedly allows "up to $5 million in federal funds to be allocated for emergency response measures to ensure the health and safety of Montanans."

By the way, I also have to give a big shout out to our veterans groups helping out in Libby and Northwest Montana right now. I checked in with Montana VFW Chaplain "Cowboy" Bill Miles. He tells me that Kalispell VFW 2252, Bigfork VFW 4042, and Whitefish VFW 276 have been doing their best to make sure that people in Northwest Montana have the supplies they need. God Bless you guys. You make us proud to be life members of the VFW!
