Labor Day weekend, the heart of downtown Billings shifts into high gear. If you’ve ever wished you could step back in time to the golden age of American cruising culture, Burn the Point delivers exactly that and then some.

Whether you're a die hard gearhead or just love the look and feel of vintage rides, this two day event is packed with old-school charm, horsepower, and hometown pride.

A Nostalgic Night in Downtown Billings

The festivities kick off Friday, August 29, in downtown Billings, where more than 500 classic cars will cruise through the streets in one of Montana’s most loved parades.

Beginning at 6:00 p.m., engines will roar to life along 3rd Avenue North, just like they did back in the '50s and '60s when cruising this very stretch was the thing to do. It’s not just about the cars, it’s about reliving an era when music, chrome, and community ruled the night.

And once the last ride rolls through? The party continues with a band and dancing on Broadway. The entire street turns into an open-air dance floor, making it one of the most unforgettable nights of the year in Billings.

Keep It Safe and Fun for Everyone

To ensure the parade remains safe and enjoyable for all, organizers have set a few guidelines. No candy or items may be thrown from vehicles, and political signs are not permitted. Only four wheeled vehicles can participate, so that means no motorcycles, trikes, or trailers.

And as tempting as it may be, burnouts are strictly prohibited. Billings Police will be on site, and violations could result in citations. Let’s all keep the focus on fun and community!

Saturday is for the Car Lovers

The celebration continues on Saturday, August 30, with the Burn the Point Car Show at Henry’s Garage, located at 12 Garden Ave. Starting at 10:00 a.m., you’ll find nearly 300 classic cars and trucks on display, all for just $5 admission. It’s a full day of gleaming chrome, restored beauties, and custom builds that tell a story.

Expect great food and cold drinks from local vendors, music to set the mood, and plenty of shade to wander in while admiring every detail on these stunning machines. With over 100 trophies handed out, judged by the event sponsors themselves, you know this show is full of heart and a little friendly competition.

Shop, Swap, and Maybe Even Buy

Car enthusiasts will want to check out the Swap Meet and Car Corral, where you can shop for hard to find parts, vintage memorabilia, and maybe even score your next restoration project. It’s the perfect place to connect with other collectors and maybe take home a new treasure.

A quick note for animal lovers: please leave dogs at home, as the car show gets crowded and hot, which isn’t comfortable for pets. Service animals are always welcome, of course.

Don’t Miss Billings’ Best Labor Day Tradition

Since 2003, the Chase Hawks Memorial Association has kept the Burn the Point tradition alive, thanks to the passion of local car lovers and the leadership of Sylvia Gusick. It’s not just an event, it’s a celebration of the Billings spirit, wrapped in horsepower and nostalgia.
