Just before midnight on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, Billings Police responded to a report of a shooting at 526 Laurie Lane in the Heights, the location of the Fraternal Order of Eagles (F.O.E.). Officers arrived at approximately 11:56 p.m. following reports of gunfire in the area.

Dispute Between Two Men Turns Violent

Authorities say the initial investigation revealed that the incident stemmed from an altercation between two local men, a 31-year-old suspect and a 22-year-old victim. The conflict escalated when the older of the two men retrieved a firearm from his vehicle and fired several rounds at the younger man’s vehicle as he attempted to flee the scene.

Suspect Turns Gun on Himself

Following the shots fired at the victim’s vehicle, the suspect turned the gun on himself. He sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for emergency care. The 22-year-old victim was not injured during the incident.

All Individuals Accounted for; Investigation Continues

Authorities confirmed that all individuals involved in the incident have been identified and are accounted for. The investigation into what led to the confrontation remains ongoing.
