Tragedy in Billings: A Mother’s Loss Met With a Community’s Embrace
As the mom of a fellow horse loving, Pokémon collecting, laughter filled little boy the same age as the boy I'm about to tell you about, this story hit me in a place I can’t quite put into words.
It made me think about how, if anything ever happened to my little boy, and I pray it never does, I would hope to be enveloped in support by the community we love. And because of that, I find myself wishing the same for Hunter’s mom, who is now left without the light of her life.
A Sweet Little Soul Taken Too Soon
On August 7, 2025, the world lost Hunter Leo Patrick Cremer, a precious child born on August 3, 2015, whose life was full of joy, horses, Pokémon, and the kind of laughter that fills every corner of the hearts of all who had the pleasure of meeting him. Hunter's passing has shaken many, and a GoFundMe campaign was created to help cover funeral costs and provide relief for his grieving mom.

A Community Stepping In
The GoFundMe page, organized by S B, describes Hunter as a “handsome, horse-loving, Pokémon-collecting, laughter-filled little boy” who always carried a simple yet powerful message: “Hey, you be kind.” That kindness is exactly what his mama needs now, as she faces funeral expenses and the heavy weight of loss
A Mother’s Reflection
Thinking about Hunter’s story, I see my own son. That’s why this loss feels so close. I imagine the ache of an empty chair at the dinner table, and I know without a doubt, if it were me, I’d hope for this same community to hold me up. My prayer is that we do that now, for Hunter’s mom, who is left carrying a grief no mother should ever have to bear.
A Wish for Our Community
Hunter’s mama shouldn’t have to walk this road alone. My hope is that our community will surround her, not just with donations, but with compassion, through kind words, flowers, prayers, or even just silent support. Every act of care reminds her that Hunter’s bright spirit still lingers here among us.
How to Help
If you’re able, please consider donating to the GoFundMe set up for Hunter’s family. Even the smallest contribution helps, and if giving isn’t possible right now, sharing the link, offering prayers, and sending love are equally powerful ways to ease this heavy burden.

Our children are our treasures. Their giggles, their collections, their big dreams. Losing one is a heartbreak we can hardly let ourselves imagine. But when tragedy touches a family among us, we can choose to respond with love. For Hunter, and for his mom, may we be the caring circle of support we’d pray for if the unthinkable ever happened in our own homes.
