Yard Waste Season 2025: Get Ready, Billings Residents!
If you're anything like me, you've probably accumulated a pile of yard waste waiting to be picked up. The good news is that Billings will soon begin collecting yard waste again, and the Yard Waste Season we've been eagerly anticipating is just around the corner.
Here are some important reminders from our Solid Waste team to ensure another successful season.
Yard Waste Collection Begins
Yard Waste Collection (in the green bin) kicks off on Monday, April 7, 2025. It's time to clear out your yard and take advantage of this service.
Proper Disposal Guidelines
Yard waste is collected on the same day as your regular garbage collection. Don't forget to have the bins out by 7 a.m., avoid overfilling them, and make sure the lids are closed securely to prevent any spillage.
Handling Large Limbs and Branches
If you have large limbs and branches that need to be disposed of, keep in mind that they can be collected for a fee of $5.25 per three bundles. Ensure that all pieces are limited to 4 feet in length and 6 inches in diameter. Tie the pieces into bundles and limit each bundle to 75 pounds in weight. To schedule a collection, please call 406-657-8315, option #3.
Request Your Green Bin
For those who do not have a green yard waste bin and would like to request one, simply contact the Customer Services team at 406-657-8315, option #3. Each residence is allowed up to two green bins for their yard waste disposal needs.
Stay Informed and Connected
There will be no service delays in April, and interestingly, the 1st Monday and 2nd Tuesday happen to fall in the same week for the April cardboard collection. To stay updated or if you have any questions, feel free to reach out on social media, contact the Solid Waste office at 406-657-8285, or send an email to hodsonm@billingsmt.gov.
