As a mom, I think a lot about what my son eats and drinks, but toothpaste is something I toss in the cart and rarely think about again. This recall deserves a few minutes of your time, though, because several of the tubes involved are the character ones kids pick out for themselves.

India-based manufacturer Pritam International Private Limited started a voluntary recall on September 10, 2026, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration classified it as Class II on October 19, according to the FDA Enforcement Report. The recall covers 17 products and 4,301,700 tubes distributed nationwide by Ashtel Studios Inc. of Ontario, California. The FDA notice does not report any illnesses or injuries linked to the recalled toothpaste.

Toothpaste Recall Explained: What FDA Class II Means

The FDA uses a Class II designation when using a product may cause temporary or medically reversible health problems, or when the chance of serious health problems is remote.

The recall cites deviations from Current Good Manufacturing Practice requirements, the federal quality standards for making drug products. The FDA report does not describe the specific manufacturing problems.

Recalled Toothpaste Brands and Kids’ Flavors to Check at Home

The recalled toothpaste is sold under the Brush Buddies, evo, and ARU brands. The recall includes children’s lines in Crayola, Hot Wheels, and My Little Pony, in flavors such as bubble gum, strawberry, and watermelon, along with several ice cream flavors. Adult toothpastes are also on the list, including Brush Buddies Whitening with Baking Soda, ARU Gum Health Soothing Mint, and ARU Cavity Protection Cool Mint.

The tubes come in 3.5-ounce and 4-ounce sizes, plus a two-pack of 3.5-ounce tubes, with expiration dates from November 2026 through June 2028. The FDA report does not say which stores sold the recalled toothpaste.
