On the night of September 15, 2025, around 9:00 p.m., Red Lodge Police were called to the area of 13th Street East and Platt Avenue South after a woman reported being confronted by a man while walking home alone. According to police, the suspect tried to grab her and overpower her.

Victim Fights Off Attacker, Police Launch Investigation

 According to a statement from Red Lodge Chief of Police Greg Srock, the woman was able to fight off the suspect and get away. Once safe, she contacted Dispatch to report the incident. Officers quickly responded, gathering statements, collecting evidence, and canvassing the neighborhood in search of the man. The investigation remains ongoing.

Police Share Suspect Sketch and Detailed Description

Investigators released a sketch of the suspect in hopes someone in the community will recognize him. He is described as a white male in his late twenties to early thirties, standing between 5’8” and 5’10” with a slim build. Witnesses noted sparse blond or reddish facial hair on his chin and lip, a distinctive or long-shaped nose, a pointed chin, and visible acne scarring.

July Case Raises Concerns of Possible Repeat Suspect

This latest report isn’t the only concerning case in Red Lodge. In July, another woman said she was chased to her home by a man with a very similar description. With two troubling incidents only months apart, the community is questioning whether the same person may be responsible.

Authorities Ask Public for Help Identifying Suspect

The Red Lodge Police Department is urging residents to study the sketch closely and to report anything that might help. Anyone with information is asked to contact Carbon County Dispatch at 406-446-1234, option 1.

Community members are reminding each other to avoid walking alone when possible, carry protection, and check in with friends or family.
