After 26 Years, Billings’ Party America Is Closing Its Doors

For more than two decades, Party America has been part of countless celebrations in Billings. It has been the place families have turned to for birthday decorations, graduation balloons, Halloween costumes, baby shower supplies, and all the little details that make an ordinary day feel special.

I have made more than one last-minute run to Party America for my child's birthday, usually because I forgot balloons or underestimated how many "Happy Birthday" banners a 9-year-old thinks a party needs. It was the kind of store where you could walk in stressed and walk out with everything solved in fifteen minutes.

Now, after 26 years in business, the locally owned party store is preparing to close its doors for good.

Billings Party America Owner Calls Closure Bittersweet

In a post shared on social media, the owner, Lisa Gouveia, described the decision to close as "very bittersweet, very sad." She thanked the Billings community for supporting the store for so many years but said it is time for her to do something else with her life.

The store's final day will be October 31, 2026, meaning Party America will close on one of its busiest and most fitting days of the year: Halloween.

Party America Billings Closing Sale: Discounts Up to 70%

As of August 10, merchandise throughout Party America is marked down between 10% and 70%.

The store carries balloons, decorations, costumes, and supplies for birthdays, graduations, weddings, holidays, and other special occasions. It is currently open seven days a week at 1025 Shiloh Crossing Boulevard in Billings.

Billings Customers React to the News

It didn't take long for longtime customers to begin sharing memories and disappointment after the closure was announced.

"I have loved your store for so many years. I am sad to see this," Beth Hein wrote.

Ruby Olmstead wondered where families will now find graduation balloons and supplies, while Pam Wilson Berry described Party America as "a staple in our community."

The closing sale continues through October 31, with discounts increasing as the date approaches. Party America is located at 1025 Shiloh Crossing Boulevard and is open seven days a week until then.
