Northwest Montana Fair and Rodeo: The Perfect End of Summer Getaway
Summer might be winding down, but there’s still time to squeeze in one more trip before school routines and packed schedules return. If you’re up for a little road trip and want to experience something special, the Northwest Montana Fair and Rodeo in Kalispell might just be worth the drive.
A Montana Tradition Since 1902
This isn’t just any fair. The Northwest Montana Fair and Rodeo has been going strong for over 100 years. It first kicked off back in 1902 and has grown into one of the biggest and most loved events in the region. What started as a small local gathering has turned into a weeklong celebration of Montana’s roots, rodeo thrills, and community pride.
Mark Your Calendar: August 12-17, 2025
Held every August at the Flathead County Fairgrounds, this year’s fair runs from August 12 through 17. That gives you just enough time to plan a quick getaway and enjoy some classic summer fun before the first school bell rings.
Affordable Fun for the Whole Family
Entry is easy on the wallet too. Kids five and under get in free. Tickets are just $5 for kids ages 6-12 and adults 65 and older. Everyone else pays only $8. Just make sure to grab your tickets from nwmtfair.com or their official ticketing partner Eventgroove to avoid overpaying or getting stuck with fake tickets.
Rodeo Nights and Star-Packed Concerts
The fair brings the excitement with three nights of PRCA Rodeo action, so if you've never been to a rodeo, this is your chance to see the real deal. Add in two big concerts, a bustling carnival, and all the fair food your heart desires, think funnel cakes, corn dogs, and deep-fried everything.
Blue-Ribbon Fun Around Every Corner
There’s something for everyone here. Check out more than 6,000 handmade and homegrown exhibits showing off the skills and talents of people from all around the region. From colorful quilts and towering sunflowers to rabbits, mini-horses, and more, there’s a surprise around every corner.
Explore the Local Talent and Livestock
Don’t miss the Livestock Show and Sale, where you can see the area’s best young farmers and ranchers showing off their hard work. Plus, over 100 commercial booths offer everything from handmade crafts to the latest in western wear.

Why Not Make It a Trip?
Kalispell is beautiful this time of year, and the fair is a great excuse to explore the area. Whether you’re looking for one last summer memory with the kids or a fun long weekend with friends, this could be just the break you need!
