If you have frozen pizza or snacks in your freezer, there’s a new food recall you should know about. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service has announced a recall impacting several frozen products available at stores throughout Montana.

How the Recall Started

The recall traces back to a batch of dry milk powder that tested positive for salmonella contamination. This ingredient ended up in several processed foods, including frozen pizza and other snacks.

Because the milk powder was widely used in food manufacturing, a variety of frozen products became affected.

Which Frozen Products Are Involved?

Some of the recalled products include select Great Value chicken bacon ranch pizzas sold at Walmart, certain Culinary Circle frozen pizzas, and specific Pork King’s pork rind snacks. Check your freezer for frozen pizzas, especially those with best-by dates between February and August 2026.

Most of these items have best-by dates ranging from February through August 2026, so it’s important to check even if you bought them a while ago.

Steps to Take if You Have Recalled Products

If any of these recalled products are in your home, do not eat them. Dispose of them safely or return them to the store where you purchased them for a refund. Your health and safety come first.

So far, there have been no confirmed cases of illness in Montana, but officials are acting out of caution to reduce any risk to the public.

Understanding Salmonella: The Health Risk

Salmonella is a bacteria that can lead to food poisoning. Symptoms such as diarrhea, stomach pain, and fever can appear within hours or days after eating contaminated food. Young children, older adults, and people with underlying health issues are especially at risk and should be extra cautious.

Why You Should Take This Recall Seriously

It’s tempting to overlook food recalls, especially if no one you know has reported getting sick. But taking a few moments to check your freezer could help protect your household from unnecessary illness.
