If you’re waking up in Billings this morning, there’s an urgent situation you need to know about.

Who Is Missing and What We Know

The Billings Police Department is asking for help finding a missing and endangered man. Lee Carlson, who goes by Sunny, was officially reported missing just after midnight on April 17, but he hasn’t been seen since the evening before.

Last Seen Thursday Evening on South 27th Street

According to police, Sunny was last seen around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, in the 600 block of South 27th Street.

That gap is a big part of why this is so urgent. He’s already been out there for hours, and overnight temps in Billings were chilly.

How to Recognize Him

Sunny is 62 years old, described as a white male, about 6 feet tall, and 170 pounds. A photo shared by authorities shows what he was wearing when he was last seen, which could help you recognize him if you’re out and about today.

Severe Dementia Makes This Situation Critical

Sunny is living with severe dementia, which significantly increases the urgency of this search.

With dementia this advanced, a person can get turned around fast, even on a street they’ve walked a hundred times. He may not know how to ask for help or even realize he needs it. That’s what makes overnight exposure so dangerous.

What You Can Do Right Now

As you go about your morning, check your neighborhood, especially near South 27th Street, parks, or places where someone might try to rest or seek shelter.
