What brought the big pink bus to Bozeman, Montana? Girl power and the power of prayer. Concerned Women for America hosted a rally at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds earlier this week.

Penny Nance, President and CEO at Concerned Women for America, headlined the event. She was joined by Heather Nauert, former spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State. (You may also remember Heather from her days as a reporter on Fox News)

Nance joined me earlier this week on our statewide Montana Talks radio show.

Penny Nance: "We want to remind conservative women, women of faith, that we have to vote. Women have carried every presidential election since 1964 and certainly impact all the down ballot races. And so we really want to sort of wake up women out of their pews and remind them what's at stake."

The back of their bus says, "honk if you know what a woman is."

Penny Nance: "And we've gotten a lot of honks across the country, we've gotten a few fingers on the way, and that's all- that's okay. Freedom of speech. But it's shocking where we are in this country that people refuse to even admit there's a biological difference between men and women."

According to a Concerned Women for America press release, "Nance spoke about the most pressing issues facing the country, while Nauert spoke on the importance of America’s energy independence and the need for women to get involved at the local level."

Penny Nance: "As I travel the country, women from every corner of America voice the same concerns: They’re struggling in this economy. They don’t like what’s happening in their children’s schools. They feel Washington is out of touch with their values. And they’re terrified by the turmoil overseas. That’s why Concerned Women for America is traveling around the U.S. in our Big, Pink, Bus. We’re here to motivate and activate Christian, women voters to get to the polls and elect candidates who champion our values.

The event in Montana is part of CWA’s national “Big, Pink Bus” tour, spanning 12 states. It is CWA’s fifth bus tour, and the largest and most robust in the organization’s history.
