Spend more than two minutes on social media and you'll start to assume that everyone is consumed with politics. Despite the overload of political advertising and memes (frequently half-truths or outright lies) burning like wildfire across the internet, it turns out that many people aren't passionate about politics. Shocking, right?

For example, a coworker I was chatting with yesterday mentioned that he isn't sure if he is registered to vote. "You should really look into that," I said while thinking, "Who in the world doesn't vote?" Check your Montana voter registration quickly and easily HERE

Younger people are less likely to vote.

According to nationwide 2022 data, only 49.1% of 18 to 24-year-olds are registered to vote, whereas those aged 65 - 74 are the most likely age group to vote at 77.9%.

Reactivating is easy.

If your name is on the Inactive list, it's fairly straightforward to correct the issue. Find out how HERE and get answers to any Montana voting rules and procedures HERE.

Voters automatically become inactive if they fail to vote in a federal general election AND ignore two confirmation mailings from the county courthouse. Montana voters can also become Inactive if they had a mail ballot returned to the county election office as undeliverable, and did not respond to a confirmation mailing sent by the county election office.

You're probably familiar with the adage, "You can't complain if you don't vote." I feel like that's true. People can stir up all kinds of opinions and political emotions online, but if they're not casting a ballot in November, does it even matter?
