Montana City Named Most Depressed In The U.S.

I came across an interesting stat while I would searching the internet. Now, let me just say, just because you read something online, doesn't mean that it's true. However, what I did read was that Billings, Montana is one of the most depressing cities in the United States.

First, let me say that I have nothing against Billings, and this is not my opinion.

However, I decided to do a little research and what I found out was that not only is Billings one of the most depressed cities in the United States, it is the most depressed city in the United States! Listen, I get it, a drive through Billings isn't all that pretty if you stay on the interstate, but nor is Bozeman, Butte, or Missoula. So, what is it about Billings that has everyone depressed? The crime? The scenery? The people?

Here are the reasons why Billings is so "depressed"

One of the factors is the fact that Billings is considered what is called a "medical hub" meaning that many people travel for many miles to Billings to receive medical care. So, it might not be that Billings is all that depressed as much as it is the areas around Billings.

Other factors include the fact that the winters are long and dark, the "Montana Mentality" of "just rub some dirt on it, you'll be fine", and isolation are all considered reasons why Billings gets the title of the most depressed.
