Dogs are impressively resilient. For example, Wyatt, our featured Wet Nose Wednesday Pet. This handsome fellow is tall, loud, and loving, and is now ready for adoption at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter in Billings.

Wyatt is a seven-year-old Red Cur Hound mix, said Derek Wulf, Humane Outreach Coordinator at YVAS. The dog first arrived at the shelter as a stray. He was adopted, then he came back because he was reportedly sick. But it turns out Wyatt just ate something that upset his tummy. He's completely fine and is ready for a forever home.

Big ears, big heart.

Wyatt is tall and thin (plenty of treats should help put some padding on his ribs), and quite friendly.  He loves riding in the car and also plays well with other dogs, said Wulf. This dog likes to "talk" when he's happy, and it was fun hearing his vocalizations this morning when he stopped by our studios.

This dog would love to be your best friend and adventure sidekick. He's got plenty of life left to share with you. See his profile at www.yvas.org.com.

Fall is a busy time at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter

Summer is winding down, but that doesn't mean things slow down at the shelter. Derek informed us that Fall is an active time of year for staffers. There are several outreach events scheduled in September and October, including a Cat Adoption event at Shipton's Big R on September 20th (KCTR will be broadcasting live).  Follow YVAS on Facebook for more info.
