Maximus Brings Max Fun: Adopt Today at YVAS in Billings
If you're looking for an old, tired dog that likes to lie around and sleep all day, Maximus might not be the right pet for you. This handsome guy is a bundle of energy and is ready for a forever home to share in his exuberance.
Maximus is an 18-month-old German Shepherd mix. He came to the shelter as a stray on November 6. Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter continues to take in strays at their temporary-for-the-foreseeable-future location at 6400 S. Frontage Road.
While this pup is quite excitable, he's also very sweet and goofy. He tried "hugging" me with his paws today, when Derek Wulf, Humane Outreach Coordinator at YVAS, brought him to our studios.

Don't be put off by his energy level.
Everyone knows that German Shepherds are smart dogs, and with consistent training, Maximus will surely become a loyal, protective, obedient companion. Plenty of exercise and things to keep him busy are probably a good idea.
Consider an end-of-year donation to Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter.
Billings is a giving community, and if you or your company are looking at making financial gifts this time of year, consider donating to YVAS. While the shelter is always looking for donations, this year has been particularly challenging.
Also, watch for YVAS Giving Trees to be popping up at several locations around Billings later this month. You can pick an ornament from the trees that have corresponding gift ideas attached, then simply drop the gift back off at the tree.

Thank you, Shipton's Big R, for supporting animal adoption in the Billings area. You can browse all of the pets currently available at the shelter or in foster HERE.
