Wingstop Opens in Billings and This Town Proves Again How Much We Love a New Restaurant
There’s something about Billings and a brand new place to eat. We don’t just show up. We show up early, bundled up, coffee in hand, and ready to see what all the buzz is about.
Wingstop found out fast just how much locals love new food spots Tuesday morning when people began lining up around 5 a.m. in anticipation of the grand opening. It was still pitch dark, but that didn’t slow anyone down. By the time the doors opened, the crowd had grown and remained steady even when I arrived around 11 a.m.
The Wing Stop Story: From One Tiny Shop to a Worldwide Favorite
Wingstop might be brand new to Billings, but the company itself has been serving up wings since the mid-1990s. It started as a small aviation-themed spot focused on fresh, cooked-to-order wings and bold flavors. Word spread fast. By the early 2000s, Wing Stop began franchising and quickly expanded across the country. Today, it’s a worldwide favorite with a loyal fan base obsessed with everything from Lemon Pepper to Mango Habanero.
Billings Shows Its Love for a New Restaurant Opening
If anyone ever needed proof that Billings loves a new restaurant opening, this was it. There was a steady flow of people from the moment I arrived until long after. People were comparing their new favorite flavors, swapping stories about Wingstops they’ve visited out of state, and saying how they’ve been counting down to the opening since the announcement dropped. It felt like a classic Billings moments where the whole town quietly agreed, “Yep, we’ve been waiting for this.”
A Staff That Matched the Excitement of Opening Day
Even with the nonstop crowd, the team working the opening couldn’t have been kinder. They were patient, upbeat, helpful, and clearly excited to be part of such a big day. Every person I watched walk out, with bags in hand and a grin on their face, looked pretty pleased.
Your Bonus Reason to Visit Wing Stop Tomorrow
If you’re planning to check out the new Wingstop, here’s something fun. Swing by the Grand and 24th location tomorrow, November 19th, between 2 and 4 in the afternoon. My buddy Michael from The Cat will be there hanging out, and you can win a fifty dollar gift certificate while you’re there. Consider it a little bonus kickoff for Billings’ newest wing spot.

Billings Loves a Good Opening and Showed Up for This One
If opening day was any sign, Wingstop is going to fit right into the Billings food scene. This community jumps in with both feet when something new arrives, and the sunrise line said it all. Wingstop’s already making a splash, and something tells me this place will stay busy for a long time.
