Billings Comes Together To Spread a Message of Love and Support
Matt and Emily Hankins from Billings are working on a special project to collect money for a billboard at the corner of 24th Street and Grand Avenue. The billboard has the words "YOU ARE LOVED" on it.
Reflecting on Community Resilience
In a message on GoFundMe, Matt and Emily Hankins highlighted the community's history of compassion and unity. They recalled the events of 1995 when the people of Billings stood in solidarity in the face of hate crimes, choosing love over indifference. This historical moment of togetherness continues to inspire acts of kindness and support in the present day.
Unveiling a Message of Love and Acceptance
The eye-catching billboard shows artwork by Rae and emphasizes the important message "YOU ARE LOVED." This artwork is meant to show that everyone in Billings is accepted, supported, and belongs in the community.
Rallying Support for a Meaningful Cause
Matt and Emily Hankins are asking the people of Billings to help them spread love and support. They want people to donate to their GoFundMe campaign to show that they stand together with their neighbors. Every donation, no matter how small, is important for their mission of promoting love and acceptance.
Making a Lasting Impact
The money collected from the campaign will pay to keep the billboard up, help the artist, and support LGBTQIA+ groups in the Billings community. Every dollar donated will be doubled (up to $5,000). At this time, the billboard is slated to stay up for 40 weeks, but Matt and Emily would like to be able to keep it up even longer.

The residents of Billings are spreading a strong message: even during uncertain and changing times, love is still a powerful and transformative force. Remember, YOU ARE LOVED.
