The Billings Police Department released its weekly brief covering March 16 through March 23, and it’s a good reminder of just how much officers handle in a single week, from hundreds of calls and crashes to a moment that made one little kid’s day.
Officer Chaffin Turned Her Shift Into a Kid’s Favorite Memory
Not everything in a police report is heavy, and this week’s update included one of those moments that was nice to see. Officer Chaffin was recently recognized by a citizen for outstanding community service after taking time during her shift to make a young police officer enthusiast’s day.
The child's mother praised Officer Chaffin for taking the time to make her young son’s day. She says her little boy loves waving to law enforcement, and Officer Chaffin went above and beyond by showing him her cruiser, turning on the lights, and giving him a full tour. The post is getting attention as a sweet reminder that there are some really great officers in our community.
