YUNGBLUD, Hairball and TobyMac Take Over MontanaFair This Weekend

MontanaFair opens tomorrow, Friday, August 7, and is certainly not easing into its first weekend quietly. Three very different concerts are coming to First Interstate Arena at MetraPark on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The opening weekend lineup moves from one of the biggest young names in rock to a full blown celebration of 1980s arena music before wrapping up with one of Christian music's most recognizable performers.

YUNGBLUD Plays MontanaFair 2026 in Billings With Ozzy Osbourne's Blessing

I was truly shocked when I saw YUNGBLUD on the MontanaFair concert schedule. Not because he doesn't belong there, but because of just how much attention he has received over the past couple of years. That he's coming to Billings is huge.

YUNGBLUD performed "Changes" at Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath's farewell concert in 2025. The performance became one of the biggest moments of his career and later earned him the 2026 Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance. Before his death, Ozzy encouraged the young British rocker to "conquer America" and keep going. Now, YUNGBLUD is bringing that momentum directly to Billings.

My son is a big fan of YUNGBLUD's nine-minute rock epic "Hello Heaven, Hello." My favorite is "Zombie," a deeply emotional song that shows a much more vulnerable side of him.

Hairball Brings 1980s Arena Rock to MontanaFair Saturday, August 8

Saturday night belongs to big hair, loud guitars and the songs that once filled arenas.

Hairball is much more than a group standing onstage and playing cover songs. The touring act recreates the full arena rock experience with costumes, lights, smoke, fire and music from bands including KISS, Van Halen, Queen, Journey, Mötley Crüe and Aerosmith. The stage continually changes as the musicians transform into different rock legends throughout the show.

Basically, it's a chance to hear an entire night of familiar rock songs without having to choose just one tribute band.

Hairball performs Saturday, August 8, and every seat costs $25.

TobyMac Closes MontanaFair 2026 Sunday, August 9, in Billings

TobyMac closes out the weekend Sunday night, and while he has built an enormous solo career with songs including "I Just Need U" and "Speak Life," hearing his name immediately takes me back to 1995. I was still in high school, and living some of the best days of my life. TobyMac was part of dc Talk, and that fall, "Jesus Freak" was everywhere.

It wasn't confined to Christian radio. The song crossed into mainstream and alternative rock spaces, and all of my friends loved it. It had guitars, attitude, and something that stood out from everything else playing at the time. 31 years later, I can still hear the opening and immediately feel like I am back in high school.

TobyMac has spent decades building on that early success with music that combines pop, rock, hip hop, and faith. His MontanaFair concert will appeal to longtime dc Talk fans, families, and younger listeners who discovered him through his solo hits.

MontanaFair 2026 Concert Schedule: First Interstate Arena Lineup and Ticket Prices

All three concerts will take place inside First Interstate Arena at MetraPark. The shows are open to all ages, although guests must be 21 or older to purchase alcohol.

A Grammy-winning rocker, an arena-sized 1980s tribute, and one of Christian music's biggest names are all playing MontanaFair on back-to-back nights this year, and that's something to celebrate!
