Details From the Indictment
Court documents state that the incident happened around mid-May of last year in Billings. Investigators allege the defendant took a truck from Breckenridge using force and intimidation, with claims that the actions led to Breckenridge’s death. The vehicle involved had previously crossed state lines, which brings the case under federal jurisdiction.
Agencies and Prosecution
The case is being handled by federal prosecutors Colin Rubich and Zeno Baucus. The investigation included work by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Billings Police Department, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Presumption of Innocence Remains
Officials emphasize that the charge is an allegation at this stage. The defendant is considered innocent unless proven guilty in court. The case will continue through the federal system, where future hearings will determine next steps.
