Popular Billings Home Store At Home Is Closing This Fall
If you’ve ever wandered the aisles of At Home dreaming up the perfect cozy living room or picking up last-minute holiday décor, you’re not alone. The popular home goods chain has become a go-to for affordable furniture, seasonal items, and everything in between. But things are changing.
At Home just announced it’s closing 26 of its stores this fall, and unfortunately, the location in Billings is one of them.
An Unexpected Update
Earlier this week, we reported that it looked like our local At Home store in Billings would remain open based on available information. However, that no longer appears to be the case. According to newly filed court documents, the Billings location is officially on the closure list.
Montana Location on the Chopping Block
The At Home store at 905 S 24th Street W in Billings will shut its doors for good by September 30. That gives local shoppers just a few more months to browse the aisles and scoop up deals before the store closes. It's disappointing news for fans of the store who rely on it for stylish, budget-friendly home finds.

Why the Closures?
This wave of store closings isn’t random. At Home recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy as part of a plan to restructure its nearly $2 billion in debt. CEO Brad Weston says the move will allow the company to refocus its efforts, close underperforming locations, and stabilize financially. The bankruptcy agreement also includes an extra $200 million in funding to keep stores running through the transition.
26 Stores Across 12 States
In total, 26 stores will be shutting down, spread out over 12 different states. The Billings location is the only one closing in Montana as it's the only store in the state, but other states are seeing multiple shutdowns. The goal is to bring the number of At Home stores nationwide down to just under 225 by October.
What It Means for Billings Shoppers
For locals, this means losing a favorite destination for everything from patio furniture to wall art. While there’s been no official word on going-out-of-business sales, those usually pop up in the weeks leading to a store’s final days.

If At Home in Billings has been part of your home makeover routines or last minute decorating hauls, you may want to plan one more big shopping trip before it's gone.
